Scheduling a Resource
Find the book in the CM Bookfinder
- Search for the book: Let’s say you’re studying the Middle Ages and want to use Minstrel in the Tower. Type “Minstrel in the Tower” in the search bar of the CM Bookfinder and click the Search button.
- Select the book: Select the book you want from the search results and click Schedule It. This will bring all the book’s details into the Resource Scheduler.
Tip: If the book you want to use isn't in the Bookfinder, you can add it.
Assign the book to a student
Once you've selected your book, it’s time to assign it to a student and set up your schedule.
- Select a student: In the Resource Scheduler, you’ll see a list of your students. Select the student you want to assign the book to by clicking the box next to their name.
- Choose a subject: Assign the book to a specific subject. In this case, we’ll use Minstrel in the Tower for History.
- Decide how to use the book: Select the study method for how you want to use the book. Since we want to read Minstrel in the Tower together, we’ll choose Read Together.
- Select chapters: The Division Selector lists all the chapters of the book, allowing you to choose which chapters to read and in which order. For Minstrel in the Tower, we’ll read all 8 chapters in order.
- Set the schedule: Choose the start date and the days of the week you want to read the book. For this example, we’ll read Minstrel in the Tower on Mondays and Fridays.
- Finalize: Once you're satisfied with the setup, click Add to Schedule.
Note: Free accounts are limited to 20 total scheduled resources.
Flexible Scheduling
The CM Organizer is designed to allow you to create a flexible schedule that isn't dependent on dates. You can schedule resources to Start After or Use With other resources, letting you queue up your resources without knowing when you'll be using them.
Start After
When you select Start After, this resource will be scheduled to start when you finish the last assignment in the resource you select from the menu. For example, you might choose to have Adam of the Road begin when you finish Minstrel in the Tower.
Start After is a great way to schedule many books one after another in the order you plan to use them. Set the date you want to start the first book, then the CM Organizer will automatically add each book to your schedule as you complete the previous book.
Use With
When you select Use With, this resource will be added to your schedule with the resource you select from the menu. For example, you might choose to have Marguerite Makes a Book Use With Minstrel in the Tower. Now when Minstrel in the Tower is scheduled to begin, Marguerite Makes a Book will begin at the same time.
You don't have to choose the same days of the week for both resources. Use With means that when the selected resource starts, this resource will also start.
