Add a book or resource

Follow these simple steps to add a new book or resource to the CM Bookfinder.

How to Add a Resource

  1. Click Add a Resource on the Bookfinder page.
  2. If your resource has an ISBN number, simply enter it in ISBN field and click Look Up Resource Details. The CM Organizer will try to automatically fill in some details about the resource, such as the title, author, and publisher. If your resource doesn't have an ISBN, no problem! You can manually enter the details.

Fill in additional information

You can fill in as much or as little information as you like. The more details you can provide, the more useful the entry will be!

  1. Resource Type: Select the type of resource you are adding. For example, is it a bookvideoaudio recording, or something else?
  2. Web address: If it’s an online resource, such as an e-book or a website, you can enter a link for quick reference. (If it's a physical resource, you can leave this blank.)
  3. Additional details: Enter any relevant details such as the year it was published, the number of pages or lessons, and the edition (if applicable).
  4. Cover image and description: If the resource is available on Amazon or another platform, the cover image and description may automatically fill in if you use Look Up Resource Details. You can edit or add to these details to make the description more specific to your needs.
  5. Tags: Use tags to categorize your resource and make it easier to find later. Tags can be related to the subject (e.g., “World History,” “Science,” “Math”) or to the theme (e.g., “Transportation,” “Revolutionary War”).
  6. Grade levels: Indicate the recommended grade levels for the resource. This will help identify which students would benefit most from using it.

Divisions

Divisions are how the resource is structured, which is how the CM Organizer knows to schedule each assignment.

  1. Divisions: Many resources are divided into parts or chapters. Use this section to specify how the resource is organized. You can select from options like "Chapters," "Lessons," "Units," or "Parts."
  2. Number of divisions: If your resource has divisions (e.g., chapters), enter how many divisions it has and their titles, if applicable. You can easily add more divisions if needed by clicking Add.

If your resource doesn't have any divisions, just choose No Divisions. The book will be scheduled as one assignment.

Sharing

If you'd like to make the resource available to other CM Organizer users, you can choose to share it. Just check the Share with other CM Organizer users box to make it public. Other CM Organizer users will be able to find the resource in the Bookfinder and schedule it. If you want to keep the resource private for your own use, leave the box unchecked.

Consider what type of resources are best to share. If you are entering a book, this is a great resource to share with others. However, if you are scheduling something special like a co-op or piano lessons specific to your child, it's probably best to keep that resource private for your own personal use.

Once you have finished entering all the resource details, you can either Save to use it later, or Save and Schedule to begin scheduling it right away.
